Over the past decade, I have been asked countless times “how can we learn more about lighting?” and even “how can I become a residential lighting designer?” My answers were always rambling and long, mentioning CEU’s, IES, ALA, conferences, RMLA, and others. Mostly what I was saying was “you kind of have to string together a bunch of different things, then go to work with an expert or make a ton of expensive mistakes, and then you’ll be there.”
As you can imagine, I was always dissatisfied with my own answer. So we’ve decided to create a new answer from scratch, the biggest single initiative we’ve ever undertaken. We call it LDX.
LDX is not a certification. It is a designation that says “I am trained, equipped, and supported by leaders in residential lighting.” LDX goes beyond a master class, beyond a boot camp, beyond an internship, beyond a textbook, beyond a webinar. It is a new approach designed to take you further, faster.
After 30 years of professional lighting design and decades of teaching lighting at virtually every level, I found myself surrounded by a team of incredible people doing great residential lighting design every single day. We developed new, easier-to-grasp design theories that make layout faster and customers happier. We built graphics and templates and toolboxes to streamline our work. And now we built a platform for real-time feedback and peer mentorship by our team of experts.
It’s all in LDX. If you want to leave the classroom behind and truly accelerate your career in residential lighting, LDX may be just right for you. Learn more at www.LDX.lighting or watch the 22 minute video introduction on Youtube.
